Inspired by the above Chinese proverb, Alma Mater was founded on February 14, 1995 by T T Rangarajan with a vision to awaken humanity. It was established with the resolve to make every individual maximise and actualise his potential, not just temporarily but as a way of life, for Alma Mater believes that all human beings have infinite potential but only a few perform to their full potential.

Alma Mater's training methodology is scientific and unique and has been developed after extensive research. It does not comprise lectures or course material but experience-based learning. Alma Mater believes in holistic growth and development and focuses on the physical, mental, intellectual, emotional and spiritual planes. Alma Mater works on sharpening attitudinal skills, reconditioning the mind of the individual and creating a spiritual awareness of the self and of life. Since 1995, Alma Mater has mentored thousands of individuals, ranging from students, housewives, businessmen and corporate managers and hundreds of organisations, and created turnarounds in their worlds.
